consulting line is a bit more complicated than the average IT position one would look at. when you put a bunch of quick witted ppl together, tell them their advancement/increment will very much depend on their performance, give them a couple of months to brew and you'll have all sort of drama coming up : bad mouthing, betrayel/back stabbing, stealing praises , pushing responsibility, accusing others etc etc. each individual, above average intelligent, quick witted, and presentable as whole, but on times where they interact with the environment + people, at times where they dealing with their responsibility, you can tell how good a person is in general and how good they are at their role. the most capable leader stands up to his responsibility on normal times as well as troubled times. those who lack the minerals tends to cower from trouble and find excuses or people to blame.
i was the playing apac manager for a month, and within that short period of time, i've seen/heard enough voices around my back more than what one would've heard from school girls' toilet (or so i assume). i was delivering my role and responsibility to both ends, and as far as management is concerned i was doing a good job, but yet my role seems to displeased a few individuals. it's always the bunch who's keen on advancement who provide more problem than actually supporting the current lead. hence in nature way of herbalogy, in order for the plant to grow healthy, the plants next to them will have to be removed. ideally if real life would be such a controllable environment.
management is good enough to consider letting me know what's going on at the back, which sorta troubles me alot back then. now we have increase one fold in team size and there's lots more personality/individual thrown into the pool. the more i can stop giving a fuck on behalf of others trying to create a utopia, the more i could function as a person and do my job well. the only good thing these ppl exist serves as a reminder of the person i shouldn't become.
fk. all these things starting to look more like "big brother house".

it came in as such a big surprise for us, everyone was expecting to see him again whenever that be... i for myself was kinda looking forward to be working with him on the next assignment. one thing you have to respect for this tall white hair scotish, always helpful and patience, despite being european he would (and had) always stand on our side to justify things to upper management on our behalfs, something which you would hardly find in normal brits and asian boss alike. really set a role model for being a good team lead/manager.
it's common ppl move on in this job im doing, but having being trained/mentored under him, and later on recommended into my current role, it would be different feeling for the ABAP team to be missing the tall scotsman.
laqini82 : ah well....that's life
laqini82 : wish him greener pastures
migarth : yeah. maybe he's getting married [finally].
migarth : let's hope he left for someone like angelina jolie or something...
migarth : at least that'll justify something in my perspective.
migarth : something definitely worth leaving for.
laqini82 : hehehe
laqini82 : but why?! unless AJ has something against SAP
laqini82 : hahaha
migarth : i dun know, maybe AJ called up and say "mark, u have been a bad bad boy reading performance book all day long, u have to stop doing that in order to enjoy ME... full package"
migarth : and so, mark goes off leaving diagonal for better good. [the end]
migarth : sounds like a happy ending to me.
laqini82 : hehehe
no news where he's onto yet. wishing him all the best [salute].

Jack Johnson "Situation" - in between dreams.
Situation number one:
It's the one that's just begun,
But evidently it's too late.
Situation number two:
It's the only chance for you;
It's controlled by denizens of hate.
Situation number three:
It's the one that no one sees;
It's all too often dismissed as fate.
Situation number four:
The one that left you wanting more,
It tantalized you with its bait.
ahhhh...
