due to my fateful experiences with performance tuning work in US, im assigned to more performance-issue task from EMI. 5k lines of code for each. the fact that mark (diagonal's oo/performance tune specialist) himself don't like the looks of them, i have a really baaaad feeling bout this.
was interviewing an 11 years experienced J2EE team lead today. looks like most of everyone tend to over-declare their value these days.
also had a short introduction session with one of the prominent academy candidate. just realize me skill to sooth agitated ppl has lvl-up. might be getting myself a new padawan soon.

was playing with collegue's Sharp 902SH, 3G phone fresh from Japan. the text scan with camera, video call and barcode scan concept is amazing. plus the mp3 sound quality and compatibility with all BT phone. also worth mentioning is the vivian hsu's picture he stored in them (dang, she's still hot despite the age).

u know, on the article bout the mice growing back major organs, they had to use phrase "the scientist ACCIDENTALY discovered..." just to pacify the animal-loving-tree-hugging hippies group getting agitated knowing the men in lab coats cuts the wee wee off the mice and having it to grow back. i mean, u dun ACCIDENTALLY discover such things, in order to have organs missing you cut the organs off with a blardy lab knife which by do all means, require some effort of brain and arm muscles if u ask me.
if things work out, it will be chimp chimp's wee wee on the chopping block after mickey's. :)

back from bali. a very beutiful island. over decorated with lavish wood and stone carvings. it's a great shame the civilization of bali doesnt go too far back, all the old looking temples and tourist settings are mere stuctures of this century, built to look old. given another millinia, i guess it should brewed to a convinving rich mystical destination. pictures later.
after all these while i guess il give life a break, gonna move things to a slower pace. perhaps (just) advancing the career for start. haven't heard any plans for the next destination from office, guess i'll be staying put for a while. time to pick up the pieces and start new again.

colleague lost his way on the way sending me to the airport (semi-drunk, quite apparently) [-10]

arrived to find my baggage delayed/lost, still somewhere in philly [-100]
met a pretty taiwanese girl on the way to the hotel. becoz i had lost my luggage, we found alot to talk about [+100]
despite the chit chat. din get her number/email. (things would be much easier so many times if i have my name cards around. damn) [-100]
checking in, credit card doesn't work [-1000]
lucky. atm does (else il be sleeping on the streets) [+1000]
baggage din arrive on time (now im really worried). [-10]
checked with front desk, stupid indian in Newark got the sheraton address wrong. (never trust an indian guy without double checking on everything) [-10000000]
called baggage department, talked to mario, promised to come at 2-3... (mexican sounds much better, at least they dun do their job hating everyone like the indians do) [...]
baggage finally arrive on 3pm [pheeew]
22 hours flight (was 7 degree celcius in stockholm) [-100]
wat an eventful trip home. back at last.

went to King of Prussia Mall to get my Ipod nano (yes sow, i WAS planning to get one), the sales guy told me they ran out of the 4gigs model, dissapointed, il have to fly home on a 24 hours flight without my cool gadget. makes me feel better this morning coming in discovering this on slashdot.

had a debriefing from the chief and bossman just now. they're quite happy, bailed em out on a deep shit apple project and tight situation with Cooper, even the hardcore code reviewer never complain bout my quality of work. and for that, i get a 97.5% review. which means : i'm l33t. hahaha.
now sorting my luggage so i could slip two hand carry through while still having my main luggage being under 50lbs. damn domestic flights. should've gone to Newark by bus.
there's still drinking before i get onto the plane tonight, lucky im not driving. see you guys home.

oh. was thinking of writing bout an over-weight peking dog which its vet has to make it going under a vegetable diet living on tomatoes and celery, the same dog which falls asleep snoring loudly under the table while the crowd is having barbecue. or am i suppose to write bout my trip to baltimore. of how i talked to the dolphins between a 3 inches glass window. or how i miscalculated the landing point by miles and ended up walking through an abandon factory area with a recycling plant, where the only vehiecle to drive by is the garbage trucks. and of how i was followed by a homeless guy who followed me into hooters, cross a nigger slumps and that crazy black guy dressed in black raincoat with a huge crucifix hanging on its waist... or the great deals i got shopping at franklin mills, or simply the orgasmic experience playing with the new ipod nano.
doesn't matter. i'm coming home. finally. ;)
